🧵 Threads: Big for Travel?

I started using the Threads app (by Instagram) last weekend. First impression: this will kill Twitter! 💀 With over 100 million users in its first 5 days, it just might.

Here’s why I think Threads could be big for travel too:

All the top travel people and brands are already there, or soon will be, because they were on Instagram (many weren’t on Twitter).
Instagram is THE platform for travel inspiration (and eye candy), but it’s lacks the format to ask questions, share practical tips, and have discussions. Threads is doing this: travel influencers and companies are already having more real and open dialogues than they do on Insta.
Until now, this sort of community and text- based travel content, knowledge, and discussions, have been locked in Facebook Groups, SubReddits & Blog posts. When they add good search functionality to the app, Threads has the possibility to open that up more broadly.
